I will admit that this is the first kettle I ever owned, so I have nothing to compare it to. But I want to say that this kettle was my faithful friend for 5 years of frequent use. It only broke recently after I dropped it off the counter when full. I'm surprised that everyone else's performed so poorly since mine was such a champ. I think I'm going to order another of this same model.
